Organize Your Home

Welcome
Welcome to Organize your home.  Sit back, relax and let your mind wander over ideas of a nice, clean, organized, stress-free home.  Now doesn't that sound good?  You've come to the right place if you are thinking to yourself "only in dreamland".  Start by scanning through the lists below and then stop imagining your home like that - instead start living it.

Here is a great site for Kids Chores - http://www.printablechecklists.com/checklist11.shtml

Once a month my family sits down and holds a "family meeting".  During this meeting we discuss the last month.  Anything fun we did, anything we didn't like, how school is going overall,  praise for the great behavior we are seeing and discussion on what isn't working right.  We then develop or review each child's chore list and make adjustments.  Since I have two children and occasionally there are chores that neither of them really want to do - we will alternate months that they will be on each others chore lists.  By holding a family meeting it gives everyone a chance in the family to come together and talk.  Although we do talk each evening at dinner time it's nice to have this separate time just for us.

If you decide to hold a family meeting, I would love to hear your comments and feedback on it.  Please email me at tamralynn@peacefulcottage.com

Organization, what can I say. These past few months i've been organizing my home and my life and what a difference it has made. It has helped my stress level.  By starting with baby steps you can accomplished BIG steps in the long run.

If you are interested in really organizing your life, I would suggest you do two things:

One, join my list at Yahoo Groups called Peaceful Cottage - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/peacefulcottage.

Here you will have the chance to do a chore each day. The chore is posted by either myself or another member of the group. Usually we focus on one area of the house and work on that before moving onto another area.

Two, look at this link about the Family Binders. I really think they have made a big difference in my life - http://www.householdnotebook.com

Here are my other links to getting your life organized.
